Personalising your texts: first name, score, gender

Writing text that speaks to each visitor

In your quiz texts, anything in braces is replaced at display time by something about the person answering. Nothing to code: type them, or use the insert button next to the field.

First name

{name} shows the visitor's first name.

For it to have a value, turn on "Ask for first name" in the editor's right column: a small screen appears before the first question.

Well done {name}, you're one of the few who... → Well done Sophie, you're one of the few who...

Score (score mode only)

  • {score}: the global score, as a percentage (0 to 100).
  • {label}: the band label, e.g. "Score 40 to 69".
  • {score_sleep}: the score of the axis named Sleep, also a percentage.
  • {label_sleep}: that axis's label.

So each axis gives two variables built from its name. They appear in the editor as soon as you add an axis: no need to guess the spelling, the insert button lists them.

They also work inside the action button's URL. That's how you send a visitor to a different page depending on their score, or pass the result to your own tool.

Worth knowing: they keep working even when you've chosen not to display the score. Hiding the score doesn't erase it, it just makes it invisible.

Gender

{ready|ready|ready} shows the right form based on what the visitor picked: masculine, feminine, non-binary, in that order. In French: {prêt|prête|prêt·e}.

Turn on "Ask for gender" so the question gets asked. The ✨ button next to each field asks the AI to write all three variants at once, and you can edit them afterwards. If you turn gender on after writing your quiz, "Gender the whole quiz" sweeps every field.

In English or another ungendered language, the AI returns the same text three times: the display stays correct.

If a variable shows up as-is

Seeing {score} on screen instead of a number? That's deliberate: an unknown variable stays visible rather than vanishing silently. Usual causes:

  • a typo in the name;
  • {score} on a profile-mode quiz, where it doesn't exist;
  • {name} without "Ask for first name" turned on;
  • an axis renamed since you wrote the text.
