Profile or score: which one?

The one decision that matters up front

Tiquiz builds two different kinds of quiz. You pick at creation time, and it is the one setting nobody guesses right on their own. Spend thirty seconds here and you save yourself a rebuild later.

The question is not technical. It is: what is my quiz about?

Profile quiz: "who are you?"

Each answer votes for a profile, and the most-voted profile wins.

This is the common one. Use it when your results are types, personalities, ways of doing things: "What kind of founder are you?", "What's your communication style?".

No profile is better than another. They are different.

Scored quiz: "where are you at?"

Each answer is worth points, and the total decides the result.

Use it when your results are levels: an assessment, a diagnosis, a maturity stage. "How ready is your offer?". There is an order: a low score and a high score do not mean the same thing.

You can also split the score into axes (sleep, food, stress…): each gets its own bar.

The one-line test

If your results can be ranked from worst to best, it's a score. If they are simply different, it's a profile.

What if I picked wrong?

It happens, and it shows: in score mode, the checks that talk about profiles (which questions lead to this result, ties) do not appear, because they mean nothing there. In profile mode you will never see point ranges.

Everything else you wrote is reusable: the simplest route is to recreate the quiz in the right mode and paste your texts across. Still unsure? Ask support from the help button before rebuilding.

Answers in profile mode

In profile mode, one answer votes for exactly one profile. So if you want 4 profiles, you need at least 4 answers per choice question, otherwise one profile cannot win there. The editor warns you when a result can never be awarded, and "Rebalance with AI" can write the missing answers for you.
